  • Girls 11-17 must be supervised by an adult when selling door-to-door and must never sell alone.

Selling in your Neighborhood

  • Always follow safe pedestrian practices.

Booth Sales

  • Adults should be present at a cookie booth in a public place.

Money Management

  • Always have a plan for safeguarding money. Avoid walking around with large amounts of it or keeping it at home or at school.
  • Give proceeds to supervising adults who should deposit it as directed by your Girl Scout council as soon as possible.

Online Safety

  • Girls can use e-mail and age-appropriate Internet functions such as online marketing tools to ask customers to make a promise to purchase Girl Scout Cookies.
  • Girls may not accept payment for Girl Scout Cookies online. Be sure and follow GSUSA Basic Online Guidance for Product Sales.
  • Never give out your address or telephone number, or your parents'/guardians' work addresses or telephone numbers, or the name and location of your school without your parents'/guardians' permission.
  • Tell adults right away if you come across any information that makes you feel uncomfortable.
  • Never agree to get together with someone you "meet" online without first checking with your parents/guardians. If they agree to the meeting, be sure that it is in a public place and your parents/guardians are present.

Online Safety

  • Never send anyone your picture or anything else without first checking with your parents/guardians.
  • Do not respond to messages that are mean or make you feel uncomfortable. If you receive such a message, tell your parents/guardians right away so that they can contact the online service.
  • Talk with your parents/guardians to decide on the time of day, length of time, and appropriate areas for you to visit online. Do not access other areas or break these rules without permission.
